On June 26, specialists of the "Sustainable Rural Development" project implemented by UNDP Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Economy and Finance and funded by IsDB and OPEC Fund visited our University to make a presentation of the contest among young architects and urban planners "Smart Rural Planning". This contest is organized with the aim to attract young people to participate in the socio-economic development of regions, cities and communities, as well development and implementation of projects aimed at improvement of urban planning documents and the introduction of innovative, low-carbon design solutions. Applications will be accepted for any of 3 nominations: "Smart rural settlement" - general plan (master plan) / conceptual design of the village territory; "Smart district" - general plan (master plan) / conceptual design of the city / district; "Green building" - a project of a public building or a social facility. On June 19, a Cooperation Agreement was signed with Ajou University in Tashkent and the University of Central Florida. In this document, it is planned to exchange information, experience and practice on issues of common interest between higher education institutions, to prepare and publish scientific articles in cooperation, to launch conferences, seminars, professors and students exchange programs. The projects were made by fusing Uzbek and Korean architectural traditions. The requirements were having a modern look and to represent the university to visitors and passersby. Today the presentation of the final results was held. The jury members have examined the projects and the final decisions will be announced in the coming days. The winning project will be realized in the framework of the reconstruction of the campus of Ajou University in Tashkent.
