AUT students visited the State Museum of Timurids History

The teachers and students of Ajou university in Tashkent visited the State Museum of Timurids History which is located in Street Amir Temur, Tashkent.

The museum was opened in 1996 in honor of the 660th anniversary of the outstanding commander Amir Timur, also known worldwide as Tamerlane.

The three-story rounded building of the Museum is framed by a dome in classic Oriental style. The interior is richly decorated with marble, unique paintings, and gold leaf.

There are more than 5,000 artifacts in the museum collection, with more than 2,000 displayed in museum exhibition halls. In particular, the museum displays focus on the genealogy of Amir Temur, his coming to power, the military campaigns of Sahib Kiran, diplomatic and trade relations, workmanship, city improvement and landscaping, and science and education development.

The museum’s exhibits related to representatives of the Timurid dynasty, including maps, weapons, copper and silver coins, miniatures, rare manuscripts, potteries, and jewelry are made great impression on the students of Ajou in Tashkent.

The students attracted the Koran, the copy of the famous holy book of Muslims, is held in the center of the Main Hall in the museum. The teacher shared productive information on the history of Amir Temur with students.
