Islam Karimov

Islam Abduganievich Karimov, the founder of Uzbekistan's independence, a prominent statesman who developed the country's independent development program and set the course for national development, was born on January 30, 1938 in Samarkand region. Islam Karimov served as President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 1991 to the end of his life. Under the leadership of Islam Karimov, Uzbekistan has experienced a very strong development. During his tenure, Karimov established diplomatic relations with more than 100 countries. Karimov is remembered by the Uzbek people for his good deeds during his presidency.

      

   He was one of the main authors of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which fully meets the democratic requirements and international standards. He studied the peculiarities of the people and the best world practices and developed a new model of economic activity. This path of development includes five well-known principles, such as the supremacy of the economy over politics, the rule of law, the role of government in transition, the gradual implementation of reforms, strong social protection, and is known around the world as the "Uzbek model". The recognition was made through I.Karimov.

      

   During his presidency, Karimov has won many state awards. For example, he was awarded the Order of the Hero of Uzbekistan, the Order of Independence the Order of Amir Temur. as well as Karimov has been awarded more than 62 international awards

       

  Karimov was also elected an honorary doctor of sciences, professor and academician of more than 10 foreign universities and academies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan for his great contribution to the development of economics, science and education.

       

  More than 15 of his works study current issues of economic and socio-political development, scientifically substantiate the domestic and foreign policy of Uzbekistan, and outline current and future tasks. His works have been translated into English, Russian, French, Spanish, German, Indian, Chinese, Arabic, Korean, Turkish and other foreign languages ​​and have been published several times.

       

  The first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Islam Karimov died of a heart attack on September 2, 2016 at the age of 78.

       

  After the death of the President, the following facilities were named after I. Karimov:

  1. Tashkent State Technical University;
  2. To the automobile plant in Asaka;
  3. To the Palace of Arts in Fergana;
  4. Tashkent International Airport.

 

 

The following work has been done to immortalize the memory of the President:

  • The central streets of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the city of Tashkent and the regions have been named after Islam Karimov.
  • Every year, January 30 is widely celebrated, and September 2 is commemorated as Remembrance Day.
  • A state scholarship named after Islam Karimov has been established for university students.
  • Scientific and artistic works, documentaries and feature films about the life and work of Islam Karimov have been created.
  • Special postage stamps with the image of Islam Karimov have been developed.
  • On October 17, 2018, an alley named after Islam Karimov was established near the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow, and a statue of Karimov was erected in its center.

 

The memory of I. Karimov will always be eternal for the Uzbek people.
