On the occasion of the beginning of new academic year at Ajou University in Tashkent, an O-Day event was held for first-year students. O-Day, or Orientation Day event, has become a tradition at foreign universities, it is considered the day of adaptation for first-year students.
420 new admitted students were invited at the appointed time by the faculties. The Vice-Rectors of the University, Mr. Lim Jay Ick and Mr. Kuchkarov Bahodir Mahkamovich, congratulated them on becoming student and wished them success in their future studies.
Lee San Hyun, Director of Academic Affairs, and Dilmurod Mamatov, Head of the Department of Teaching Methods, briefed the university on modern forms and methods of teaching, curricula, assessment criteria, Blackboard system and other educational and methodological complexes applied in accordance with international standards.
Professor Oh Seok Kyu, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Professor Yung Seok Shin, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Professor Jo Jung Yol gave detailed information about departments.
Students were introduced with the heads of departments of the University, group coordinators, members of the Student Union.
At the end of the event, they were given personal badges and ID cards, volunteers introduced the University campus to them, and students from the regions were provided with dormitories.
